There is now a fear that a flu pandemic could cause tens of millions of deaths and official predictions here suggest the death toll in the UK could be up to 750,000. There are currently several unconfirmed cases of swine flu in the UK and several confirmed cases in Spain. With a possible pandemic situation, similar to the bird flu scare of 2007, companies should think about possible contingency strategies such as secure VPN access and secure video conference facilities from home and other safe locations.
