SecurityVibes membership criteria
SecurityVibes is a private community for professionals in the security sector. Vendors, VARs, security consultants and other sellers of security products or services are not allowed to join SecurityVibes.
Members
The following criteria are to be observed when submitting a membership request:
- Your position within your company must be directly related to any of the following disciplines; information security, risk and threat management, governance or compliance (ie: CSO, security engineer, security expert, Risk Manager, compliance officer, etc...)
- Except for CIOs, who manage security as part of their responsibilities, your involvement with security must be full-time.
- Your company should not operate in the field of IT security, risk management, compliance, or an industry immediately related to those.
In addition, each new membership request is submitted to an advisory committee composed in part from SecurityVibes members.
Experts
SecurityVibes will invite a limited number of talented experts whose contributions are expected to bring value to the community. Those experts are not bound by the membership rules above, but need to observe the following criteria:
- Experts join the community on an individual basis. Their employer must not appear on their member profiles and they are not allowed to make any reference to it.
- Experts should not be employed by a security vendor. They may however be consultants, journalists, jurists, etc...
- Experts should not make any kind of commercial solicitation.
- Experts are not allowed to share discussions from within SecurityVibes with anyone, and especially their employer.
SecurityVibes retains the right to terminate an expert's account should they ignore the above rules, especially if they are reported for abuse by a regular member.
