CISSPs who are also members of SecurityVibes can now earn CPE credits for significant content contributions to SecurityVibes. In line with (ISC)²’s CPE Guidelines, CISSPs earn 10 CPE credits for their first published article and one additional credit for every subsequent hour spent posting content to the SecurityVibes.com site.

Qualifying content includes articles, analysis, reviews, comment and responses to other SecurityVibes member questions.  The arrangement between SecurityVibes and (ISC)² has been initiated at the request of SecurityVibes members wishing to benefit from their involvement in the community as a way to help them maintain their professional certification.

“SecurityVibes offers our profession a unique means of privately exchanging ideas with our peers about IT security and compliance.  Maintaining a certification like the CISSP requires investing time in security activities, such as seminars or training sessions, outside of work time, in order to acquire the required CPEs every year. Due to the work load we face in our day-to-day jobs, we have little time for these extra activities, and being able to earn CPE credits while participating and contributing to the SecurityVibes community represents a real opportunity for me,” said Richard Guidoux, CISO of Carrefour Hypermarkets.

As an official (ISC)² CPE submitter, SecurityVibes can submit CPEs on behalf of its member CISSPs.  SecurityVibes members should provide their name and member number to their local chief editor who will verify and forward the details to (ISC)². (ISC)² will then post their CPE updates within two to three weeks.
