Jerome Adobe's latest unpatched PDF vulnerability is being exploited in both a large-scale attack and several targeted attacks against high profile corporate targets. That's what NetworkWorld reports, citing Symantec (34,000 alerts for that PDF exploit on dec, 31st 2009 alone) and ISC (several targeted attacks on network administrators or corporate VIPs). The vulnerability should be patched by Adobe next week, on january, 12th. Read the story here : http://bit.ly/5ev6HD

Jerome Steal a VM in three easy steps ? That's what pretends an article from SearchTarget. Of course, it's more an insider threat than anything else since the attacker would need to have access to the appropriate storage volumes. Yet, the point here is that while it used to be difficult to leave work carrying a physical server or two, an admin could now very well take home several virtual servers in his pocket without anyone noticing. The article shows how to it by cloning the VM files and configuration (.vmdk and .vmx) using the vSphere client. And it offers a few good practices to mitigate the threat. Nothing original nor fancy, but a good heads-up nevertheless. http://bit.ly/70YgH6
