Appointing a Data Protection Officer (DPO) (Closed)
7 month(s) ago
I have recently been involved in discussion about appointing a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Although I have partially covered this role from an InfoSec perspective, I have recommended that this be someone from a legal background as DPA matters are becoming quite legislatively complex and very time consuming. I advocate that we require expert direction during projects, investigations and general guidance to the company more than my amateurish attempts to guide.
How are you guys handling the Data Protection Act (UK and European) and the role of the DPO?
Many thanks
Bob
